An urban cartography traced by the voices of the Roman Hip Hop scene, from pioneers to the new generations, to rediscover the soul of the Capital beyond its classic iconography.
Rome is not a background; it is a living body.
Remapping Rome is not just a documentary; it is a choral journey spanning decades of history, rhymes, and concrete.
Through the testimonies of over 35 protagonists, the film rewrites the map of the city starting from its underground roots all the way to visions of the future.
In a world of monuments and classic icons, a 2H Rome exists. This is its story
Remapping Rome was created in 2024 as a 15-minute short documentary, produced to be screened in Bogotá as part of our collaboration with Hip Hop al Parque, co-curated alongside with Apollonia, a historic figure of Venezuelan Hip Hop.
After a year of waiting while trying to develop the project into a full-length feature documentary, backed by the wealth of interviews we collected, we reached a fundamental decision: as a deeply community-driven project, the film deserved to be returned and shared with the community just as it was, without further delay.
We are therefore presenting this version to you, with the hope and wish of finding the financial support needed in the future to produce the extended version.
The film features Spanish and English subtitles.
